Annex 1: Requirements for metadata to be correctly identified as UK Gemini

Records that are imported into SpatialData.gov.scot (rather than created within the portal using the available templates) must include the following XML elements to ensure that the record is correctly identified as UK GEMINI upon import.

Note: Using the default to-gemini23 xsl transformation when importing will do this for you.

Root element

The root element should include a link to the gml 3.2 namespace and should not include xsi:schemalocation as this is handled internally:

Metadata standard name and version

The correct metadata standard name and version should be included. Note these are case-sensitive:

 <gmd:metadataStandardName>
    <gmx:Anchor xlink:href="http://vocab.nerc.ac.uk/collection/M25/current/GEMINI/">UK GEMINI</gmx:Anchor>
</gmd:metadataStandardName>
 <gmd:metadataStandardVersion>
    <gco:CharacterString>2.3</gco:CharacterString>
 </gmd:metadataStandardVersion>
